Help! Do I have a demon?
“Help! I think I have a demon!” The frantic voice of a friend reverberates through the phone lines.
I thought she was kidding but she was very serious. She had started having nightmares about strange creatures and giant spiders who were chasing her with intent to kill. She thought her problem might be demonic and wanted me to help her rid her home of demons.
“How will we do that?” I asked her. She proceeded to explain to me that she recently heard a preacher on TV say that to rid your house of demons one would need to purge all items the demons might have attached themselves to! She said she needed me to help her find those things so she could burn them!
“Oh, I don’t think that will work …..” I started to tell her when she cut me off.
“Well, if you don’t believe then I’ll have to find someone who does!”
Phew! I thought, relieved when she abruptly hung up her phone. I am not into exorcism!
But, I do believe spiritual beings. I believe there are heavenly angels and I believe there are demonic spirits. I’ve spent lots of time studying, praying about and even teaching on these subjects. I believe I have seen angels at work in my life and I’ve also sensed the presence of the unholy attempting to interfere and cause havoc.
But, demons in pictures or a coffee pot? Don’t think so! Of, course I could be wrong. What say you?
